A great week at Walgreens

Great moneymakers at Walgreens this week! Ecotrin (aspirin) is on sale for $2, printing a $2rr. There's a $2 coupon out there making these $.19 each (tax) and get a $2rr back. Bayer meters (Breeze 2 and Contour) are $10 and printing a $10rr. With the coupon out- this makes them free plus rr. Here in lovely Tennessee, the tax is $.95 on $10, so I paid $.95/each and got $10 back. Thanks to a good friend who had a ton of these coupons, I was able to get ten meters so far (they didn't get my special order in, so I will go back tomorrow to ask the manager about them, maybe he can get more in on Wednesday- I have 29 coupons left!)

So here's what I got
10 Bayer Contour meters
4 Starbucks Doubleshots
4 Tennesseean newspapers (the Chronicle didn't have any inserts! no coupons!)
13 Ecotrin
1 pack ballpoint pens (clearance, filler)
1 bottle Vitamin C (clearance, filler)
1 Scotch mailer (clearance filler)
4 Cutter to go insect repellent (free after coupon)
Total oop: $17.98
Total rr's earned: $116 ($16 Ecotrin and $100 Bayer)

I will be giving half the $10rr's to Kelly for giving me the coupons

Brandy, thank you so much for taking the time to go and get the meters. You are a sweetheart!

Jason went this morning to get the Ecotrin and his RR didn't print. I contacted Catalina company this morning and they are going to look into it. They will mail us the RR's in 6-8 weeks if all goes well.

He also went to Walgreens at 12:30am last night to buy one meter (found another coupon in the recycle bin) and get some more Ecotrin but the RR's didn't print (apparently, they are not loaded into the Catalina machines right away). This was a lesson learned for us. My store only had one meter at midnight the day before the sale (not very encouraging)!

It was actually no big deal :) Since I went today to scope out all three stores, I was able to leave N at home with Daddy while I hit up the stores. Since it took over two hours to do twenty transactions at three stores (including transactions at the cosmetics counters, regular counters and pharmacy- for the ones stocked back there) I am sooo glad I could leave her at home. :) I just hope they can get more in!

I have been told that most Wags update the catalina machines around 3am, some stores sooner, some later, it just depends.

Sorry your Ecotrin didn't print. I hate that! That happened to me when I was doing the Huggies deal a few months back. It was a $10 one too! The manager finally gave up trying to figure it out and handed me ten bucks. LOL. (I love my wags)

I have been trying to send you an email but my email is on the blink...I am going to go ahead and stick your rr's in the mail tomorrow since they expire in two weeks. When I get more of them, I'll send them along. (When. Not If. :D I am thinking positive.)
If my store can't get them in, I'll be coming down that way Wed. or Friday so I'll hit up all the wags on my way. And there's a lot of them. Surely I'll find a few more? :)

Thanks for the update.

I love that you are going to buy seafood. I only wish we had an ocean close by so that you could get some REALLY fresh fish. I'm so spoiled from having grown up on the West Coast; I like my seafood still flipping before they cook it. :)

I really hope that your Walgreens manager gets the rest of those monitors in; it would be a shame to miss out on the extra RR's. Still, I'm thankful for what we can get (since our Wags only had 1 meter in stock). There are several more Walgreens on Nolensville Blvd though. I'll look to see if I have any more coupons and may venture out and I'll split the RR's with you for those too if I find any! We're on a mission!

BTW, which Publix stores did you use your RR's at in the past (Maryland Farms)? Did you have any problems there?

Even if we can't get the meters in, I'll hang onto the coupons- most of them don't expire until November, and they've been moneymakers a few times in the past couple of months, so maybe we'll see that again. :)
Doug said he was at a Wags today that had two, so I'm going up there in a few minutes to see if they still have them.

I used my rr's at Maryland Farms and the Belle Meade store without any trouble. One cashier at MF store asked specifically about them the first time I used one (I said, can I use these here? he checked and the mgr said yes) and after that I just hand them over with the rest of the coupons and they scan right in. They are manufacturer coupons so Publix does get reimbursed.
